Damn This Habit!
Filipinos!!!
We talk too much, we debate too much, we criticize too much.
We try to make our laws in a state of perfection.
But damn hell!!!
Nothing has changed!!!
We remain cloaked in our fabricated fancy clothes!!!
We want change, yes!
We are thirsty for it.
In fact, dying to have it.
We even have brothers in the battlefield fighting with each other for something they believe is right.
But what is right?
When children are in the street knocking the hearts of people to give them alms for food and politicians lay in their bed of gold
When my Muslim brother is at the mountains raising arms against his Christian brothers
When families are left for their fathers have to go and fight a war they know they could never win
When farmers plant, yet have nothing to feed their children
When her murderer laughs hard over his freedom
Tell me, until when are we going to enjoy this hypocrisy?

and you’ll know what I mean
- (Gintubong Timawa)
Let this be my plangent whisper…
When are you coming home?
When would I be your home?
Months had passed, and I’m still waiting for you to come back. I might be hoping for a miracle like pulling a dead from its grave.
You are so distant.
You have always been.
You used to be here with me. We used to fill the same bed, laugh ‘till our eyes drop in exhaustion. You used to say “I love you” in my every waking hours, and give me kisses when you go.
But as the sun sets to give way to the moon, you went away without going back.
I’m still praying for you to come home. I know it’s a hopeless prayer; but God might send His angels to whisper in your heart to find your way home in my arms.
